Welcome to the Mslexia Salon: the members-only area of our website, where you can attend a workshop with top authors, get feedback from agents and editors, share your work, join a group, meet likeminded writers, browse writing opportunities, and access a wealth of ‘how to’ writerly resources, prompts and workshop material – all for just £18 a year. Salon membership is available only to subscribers of Mslexia magazine.

Farhana Shaikh, editor of Dahlia Books, a British Book Awards regional finalist for Small Press of the Year, joins us for a session on working with a small press publisher. In this workshop you'll learn more about the independent publishing scene and how it is distinct from the Big 5. You'll consider how to approach and work with a small press publisher, learn how to craft a stand out pitch and submission package, and understand how to get the most of the author-editor relationship.
