Mslexia Memoir School

Due to the sell-out success of last year’s event, Memoir School is back…

Join a group of lively and supportive writers for five days of workshops, feedback, and support in the comfort of your own home.

Mslexia Memoir School is an online course for writers embarking on a memoir, or rethinking a memoir-in-progress. Four leading tutors will each focus on a single aspect of the memoir writing craft, creating a varied week of high-quality workshops.

For the Mslexia Memoir School, our four core craft tutors are:

• Cathy Rentzenbrink on exploring your 'I' voice
• Claire Hynes on harnessing the power of place 
• Jane Rogers on structure and storytelling
• Margaret Wilkinson on dramatising your memories

You can also expect:

• small-group teaching
• experienced tutors
• psychological support
• motivational coaching
• networking socials

Because this is Mslexia, we know how important it is to nurture the whole writer. So as well as top-flight tuition, we’re also including motivation and goal-setting workshops led by experienced writing coach Bec Evans.

There will be drop-in surgeries with counsellor Hilary Jenkins for anyone who’s feeling a bit lost, and informal socials led by our MC Rosie Garland - facilitator extraordinaire – who will help you get to know your fellow writers on the course.

Individual attention is all-important, so our memoir workshop groups are limited to around 12 people – which means your tutors will have time to get to know you and your writing. 

The core teaching takes place via Zoom from 10am-4pm, but groups will come together for the coaching workshops and socials – to form a community of likeminded writers who will become your friends for life.

And to finish the week in style we have invited Literary Agent Catherine Cho to the final day to offer advice on your next steps. 

Whether you experience a breakthrough with your work-in-progress, dissolve the roadblocks on your creative journey, or meet writers who will become part of your life when the course is over, this promises to be a game-changing week for your writing.
