Face-to-face and screen-to-screen contact with our team and guest experts...

Sometimes simply reading about creativity and publishing is not quite enough, and you crave feedback on your writing and actual contact with those in the know. That's where our events programme comes in. Join us in the Mslexia Salon for a full programme of online events, and if you'd prefer to devote a whole week to making progress on your Memoir or Novel, check out our upcoming Women's Writing Weeks.

Upcoming Salon Events

April Write-ins | 28 April, 12-1pm via Zoom We're taking a little pause from our write-ins, to recharge and refresh, but we'll be back on Monday 28 April at our usual time, 12-1pm. Whether you've got a project you're working on or just enjoy writing in the company of others, come along for a quiet, congenial hour writing. Visit the Salon to join in.

What to Include in Your Memoir (And What to Leave Out) | with Kirsty Logan | 30 April, 5-7pm via Zoom Putting real life onto a page is a process of transformation: taking a lifetime of detail and character, and shaping it into a coherent narrative. Let award-winning memoirist and novelist Kirsty Logan help you figure out what to include – and what to leave out. Visit the event's page in the Salon to register.

The 'Memoirisation' of Time | with Lily Dunn | 13 May, 5-7pm via Zoom One of the defining features of memoir is what Phillip Lopate calls the 'dual perspective' of the voice of 'then' with the voice of 'now', looking back and reflecting on that experience with hindsight and all you've come to understand. In this workshop Lily will help you to identify how other writers have dealt with time jumps in their memoirs, to better control your own. Visit the event's page in the Salon to register.
