Maxine Davies

Maxine joined the Mslexia team in 2018. She was born and bred in Newcastle, and graduated with a degree in History and an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature, both from Newcastle University. She received funding from New Writing North's Young Writers’ Talent Fund in 2016. Her writing has been shortlisted in the Spread the Word Life Writing Prize 2020, the Creative Future Awards 2020 and she came third in the Autumn 2019 Reflex Fiction competition. In 2021 she was named as one of the Printing Charity’s Rising Stars and was awarded DYCP funding from Arts Council England to complete her first novel.
