We’re excited to open for entries to our third Flash Fiction Competition – the category for writers who prefer to keep their storytelling concise. Our judge, Kathy Fish – the writer behind the flash phenomenon ‘Collective Nouns for Humans in the Wild‘ – is a short-form expert, perfectly placed to find the very best of our entries.

The competition is open to women of any nationality from any country, and welcomes flash fiction of up to 300 words in length (not including the title). If you would also like to enter a short story, please click here.

All genres welcome. Please include a cover sheet with your entry.

Please ensure you’ve read the rules and FAQs before entering.

For any questions about your entry, email, or call 0191 204 8860.

Each entry fee allows you to submit one piece of flash fiction. If you would like to enter more than one piece, please ensure you select the correct number of entries below.

An entry form page will open automatically after payment. If this does not happen, or if you would like to send your work at a later date, please use the link in the payment confirmation email to access the entry form.
