Entry Fee: £15 per novella extract
Closing date: 1 October 2018
We are pleased and excited to launch the inaugural Mslexia Women's Fiction Award: Novella Competition for women writers who have not previously published a novella.
The competition is open to women of any nationality from any country, and welcomes the first 5,000 words of unpublished fiction for adults or YA readers, of between 10,000 and 40,000 words in length (not including the title) in any genre.
As well as the top prize of £1,000, the winner will have the opportunity to have their novella e-published by Mslexia.
Longlisted writers will be contacted in January/February 2019, at which point they will be asked to send us their full manuscript and synopsis. We DO NOT require a synopsis with your initial submission.
The winner and finalists will be announced in the June 2019 edition of Mslexia magazine, and will be contacted before publication of the issue, and to arrange publication of their novella.
Please include a cover sheet for your entry.
Each £15 entry fee allows you to submit one novella extract (first 5,000 words). If you would like to enter more than one novella, please select the correct number of entries below.
An entry form page will open automatically after payment. If this does not happen, or if you would like to send your work at a later date, please use the link in the payment confirmation email to access the entry form.
