Mslexia Fiction & Memoir Competition 2020: Flash Fiction
1st Prize: £500
Judge: Ingrid Jendrzejewski, editor of Flash Back Fiction and Flash Flood, Co-director of National Flash Fiction Day
Entry fee: £5 per story
Closing date: 21 September 2020
We’re excited to open our fourth Flash Fiction Competition – the category for writers who prefer to keep their storytelling concise.
Our judge, Ingrid Jendrzejewski – the editor of FlashBack Fiction and Flash Flood, as well as the co-director of National Flash Fiction Day – is a short-form expert, running workshops on editing, prose-poetry, and hybrid fictions, so she’s perfectly poised to find the very best of our entries.
The competition is open to women of any nationality from any country, and welcomes flash fiction, in any genre, of up to 300 words in length (not including the title).
Each £5 entry fee allows you to submit one piece of flash fiction. If you would like to enter more than one, please select the correct number of entries below.
The winner will receive £500, and three other finalists will each receive £50. All four winning stories will be published in the December 2020 issue of Mslexia.
