Where do we stay?

Our single en-suite rooms are all on site, in the rambling series of Grade II listed manor house buildings that make up Devonshire Hall itself, set in lawned grounds. Devonshire Hall also includes several modern accommodation buildings surrounded by grass and mature trees just across the road, less than two minutes’ walk away. During university term time Devonshire Hall houses theatre, music, art and literature students, so the rooms are basic, but clean, bright and well-equipped.

What facilities are on site?

Catering and refreshments will be available throughout the day in Devonshire Hall, and are included in your ticket price. There are also shared kitchen and ironing facilities on each floor of the accommodation. Devonshire Hall is equipped with high-speed wi-fi; you will be provided with the password on arrival.

Catering is in the communal dining hall of the historic main building of Devonshire Hall. The catering will be mainly vegetarian and vegan throughout the weekend. If you have any allergies, please let the Mslexicon team know by emailing us at Tea and coffee will be available throughout the weekend free of charge – the quality of the coffee and tea was much appreciated last year! A pay bar will be open in the foyer every evening from 5pm.

How accessible is Mslexicon?

All events and workshop spaces are wheelchair accessible, apart from one room on the first floor, which is reached by a wide staircase. There are some ground-floor bedrooms on site and additional accessibility-adapted bedroom accommodation is available in a separate building.

Parking is available for Blue Badge holders and detailed accessibility information for Devonshire Hall and the Charles Morris building is available on the website:

Our full programme is available here.

How do the one-to-one surgeries work?

Your two one-to-one surgery sessions are included in the price of your ticket and the time of each session will be confirmed on your official Mslexicon ticket.

All of the surgery sessions are timetabled to take place between events, to allow you to arrive in plenty of time – so please be prompt! If you arrive late, we regret that we can’t allow your session over-run as this is unfair to the next person.

If you are booking surgery sessions, please submit up to 1,000 words of your work in advance, along with a short biography (up to 200 words) and summary (up to 200 words) of your project (if appropriate). Please send this information to Maxine Davies and put ‘Mslexicon Surgery Submission’ in the subject line.

For more information on one-to-ones head here.
